Claims For Dangerous or Defective Products
If you have been injured by a dangerous or defective product you may be able to make a claim.
When you buy a new product you expect it to be fit for its purpose and safe to use. You would expect it to have gone through rigorous checks during and after its manufacture before it is considered safe and before it can be marketed for sale. In the vast majority of cases this is correct and by the time a product reaches the shelves it is safe to use; however, accidents do happen and some dangerous products slip through the net to become sold to the public.
If you have an accident and suffer a personal injury due to a faulty product, you may be entitled to make a personal injury compensation claim.
• If the accident was due to a defective product such as a microwave that catches fire and causes injury
• Or you buy a piece of furniture which collapses causing injury to a person
• Or you purchase food that is contaminated and is not safe to eat or you contract food poisoning
then you would be entitled to make a personal injury claim against the manufacturer of the faulty product or the person who sold it to you.
Implants can be fitted for cosmetic and medical reasons. From time to time, things do go wrong in surgery and people can be injured or left with unnecessary scarring. Sometimes, implants can be found to be defective and the person may then be injured or need to undergo further surgery. In cases like this, it may be possible to make a claim for personal injury.
Many different implants are used such as heart valve implants, orthopaedic implants to include replacement knees and hips, dental implants, facial implants, buttock implants, hair implants etc.
