It is remarkable how what seemed unimaginable at the end of February 2020, has now become ‘normal’ life. Whilst steps have been introduced to help us return to ‘how it was before’, there have been good news stories during this time of course, from clapping for key workers, to a surprise surge in ‘neighbourliness’, and the extraordinary and quite unexpected fundraising success of a dignified and determined 99 year old gentleman, Captain Sir Thomas Moore – “Captain Tom” (R.I.P.).
Late 2020 and now in to 2021, we have seen the successful ramping up of the COVID-19 Vaccination programme, with millions of the UK and global population receiving their vaccine in the early stages of the year.
During this prolonged period, we have continued to provide a first-class service to our clients, albeit in more challenging circumstances for our staff and clients alike. Whilst the lockdown has seen a significant rise in video conferencing, mainly for internal team meetings and communicating with the Courts Service, we believe this is a trend that had already been embraced by many individuals and legal firms and continues to be the “go to” medium for many of our clients.
Although some of our services were initially impacted by Government ruling such as property transactions, all our teams have since seen an increase in activity.

Since the announcement of the Chancellors Stamp Duty Holiday, our Property Team have experienced record levels of transactions and have also further embraced the use of new technologies available to them. With the provision of 24/7 online conveyancing estimates and more recently, online personal identification and anti-money laundering services, the team have continued to satisfy their growing client base with new and time-saving services.
The Personal Injury Team have seen high numbers of cases including situations created by the pandemic itself, such as accidents involving home-delivery drivers. With more of us being reliant on home-shopping and delivery, it is inevitable that such numbers would be on the increase.
