In light of recent cyber attacks on major organisations such as Marks & Spencer, Harrods and the Co-Op, we are urging all clients and prospective clients to be extra vigilant when sharing personal or financial information online - especially bank account details.
Cyber criminals are becoming increasingly sophisticated, often impersonating trusted companies in an attempt to obtain sensitive data. At Rundlewalker, we take cyber security extremely seriously and would like to remind you of the following important safeguards:
If you ever receive an email stating a change in bank account details purporting to be from Rundlewalker, do not send any funds to the account and contact us immediately using the verified contact details found on our website.
Rundlewalker will not take responsibility if you transfer money to the wrong account following fraudulent instructions. If you receive any communication - by email or otherwise - suggesting a change in our banking information, or requesting bank details from you, please treat it with caution and verify it with us directly.
These types of scams, often known as email interception fraud or conveyancing fraud, are designed to exploit trust - so always double-check before transferring money.
If you are ever unsure, or if something doesn’t look quite right - stop and call us. Even the smallest doubt is worth investigating.
We strongly advise all our clients to remain alert, question any unexpected requests for financial information, and speak to us if anything seems suspicious. When in doubt, contact us first - it's always better to check.
Your security is our priority.
Roger Henderson, Practice Manager.
