Celebrating Our Success.

It has been quite a Summer for our business with a number of achievements about which we are immensely proud, both for the firm as a whole and for the individuals in it.

Highest Google Ranking in Exeter.
Firstly, we retain the highest Google Ranking (4.8) of any firm in Exeter.

Recognition on “Three Best Solicitors”.
Secondly, our three departments (Conveyancing, Family and Personal Injury) have all been named on the “Three Best Solicitors” website. Unlike so many such websites, this is not a ranking for which we pay a fee but is instead an entirely independent body who review firms and individual solicitors and assess who they consider to be the top three locally.

There are approximately twenty or more firms in Exeter, so this is a great achievement for us. Our CEO, Nick Dudman is listed as one of the top three divorce and matrimonial solicitors, Roger Henderson is likewise listed under the Personal Injury lawyer category and our Conveyancing Department (they list conveyancing by department, not by individual) also makes it to the top three.

Success for Our Trainee Solicitor.
Thirdly, as for individual achievements, our Trainee Solicitor Maisie Rodford, has successfully passed her first year under the relatively new SQE system. This is not for the faint-hearted. The level of commitment needed is truly breathtaking. Maisie has worked full-time, yet at the same time has studied during lunch breaks, most evenings and weekends for the last 12 months, though rumour has it, she took a break on Xmas Day!

Only 50% of candidates pass the first year but not only did Maisie pass, she smashed it and was in the top 25% for her year. She now has Year 2 to negotiate, but she is well on the way to qualifying as a solicitor in Summer ’26.

Qualification Achievement in Conveyancing.
Monika Biliute-Buckland also deserves a mention in despatches, having just qualified as a Fellow Chartered Legal Executive. Monika has passed all her exams over the years at first attempt and with merits all the way, whilst at the same time working 4 days a week and raising a young family. Indeed, Monika passed 90% of her exams with distinction and the remainders with merit!

She is nothing if not determined and very conscientious. Monika is one of the stars in our Residential Conveyancing department with a bright future ahead of her.

Outstanding LEXCEL Audit Results.
Fourthly, we once again passed our audit in July for LEXCEL, which is the Kitemark for Legal Practices. We are audited every year as are all other practices. The assessor looks at our systems and policies and inspects our files, which are chosen randomly, to determine the quality and level of legal service that we provide.

We can report that in the July audit we had no Major non-compliances and not a single Minor non-compliance either. The assessor told us that though he audits perhaps 50 or more firms every year, he had not given an assessment as good as ours for 18 months or more. As you can imagine we are rather proud of that!
